About the Program
The Ban Ki-moon Foundation (BKMF), supported by Dubai Cares, and in collaboration with Plan International and Unbounded Associates, is delighted to announce the launch of the third iteration of its action-based program: Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program.
Designed for people between the ages of 14 to 20, it builds on the knowledge youth gain from the
Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course, the goal of which is to connect the passion, interests, and skills of young people with meaningful green career pathways.
In this program, you will participate in expert workshops and receive tailored mentorship from green job practitioners. Furthermore, you will place yourself at the heart of climate action by implementing a
Changemaker Project thereby putting the skills and knowledge you gained from the course into practice! These projects aim to tackle one or more of the SDGs in local communities, leading to a better, greener future.
By participating in this program, you will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of what green jobs are and what skills you need to pursue them
- Participate in tailored workshops on project management, pitching and presentation skills, as well as topics such as education, gender, and climate
- Put your knowledge into practice by designing and implementing your own Changemaker Project with guidance from your mentor and support from the BKMF and trainers
- Get extensive one-on-one mentorship from a green job professional, and develop actionable next steps to pursue your desired career
- Build professional connections and advance your networking and project-management skills.
Through a competitive recruitment process, 50 candidates between the ages of 14-20 from all around the world will be selected. They will then participate in program activities from December 2026 to June 2027 and join live workshops.
Program Dates:
November 2026 – Announcement of selection results and initial email exchange
December 2026 – Online Kick-off Ceremony
January - March 2027 – Virtual Expert Workshops
February - June 2027 – Self-paced Changemakers Project implementation with regular online meetings with your mentor and check-ins with the BKMF
June 2027 – Online Graduation Ceremony
Eligibility
- Aged between 14 and 20 years old
- Keen motivation and proven interest in sustainable development and green careers
- A passion for bringing about change at a local and global level
- Upper-intermediate English language skills
- Access to stable internet connection
- You can apply from anywhere around the globe, provided that you can participate in online meetings.
*Don't be discouraged by the requirement to complete the Online Course, you can still do this before the kick-off event! However, completion certificate will boost your chances to be selected.
The deadline for applications is 23:55 CEST on Sunday, October 25.
During the application process, you will need to enter:
- Your personal details (e.g. name, contact information, date of birth, address, citizenship, education, language competence, short profile description)
- Your professional aspirations and motivation to participate in the program (e.g. field of interest and career aspirations, challenges you are passionate to address, initial Changemaker Project ideas, etc.).
At the final stage of the application process, you will be prompted to attach the following:
- A portrait photo of yourself (JPEG or PNG format)
- An introduction video of yourself (max 1 minute, MP4 or MOV format)
- Your CV in a simple form (optional).
